Mumbai: Barely 30 hours to go before the shifting of operations to the T2 Mumbai International Airport Ltd is carrying out last minute trials, familarisation rounds and checks of all processes to ensure a smooth transition.
In all nearly 90 trials were conducted to test the preparedness involving 6,000 volunteers and staff. "We have factored as many as 232 scenarios while carrying out trials,'' said Tim Hawley who is in charge of conducting the trials. These scenarios could related to medical emergencies or system failures.
"We are confident that all systems will work as planned,'' says Frank Mcrorie, director of operations at Mumbai airport. Mcrorie says he and his team have studied from the experiences of other airports and worked to ensure a glitch free opening.
