DGCA Acts After US Downgrade

A month after US Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) downgraded India’s aviation safety rating from top to second category, the  Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said it has completed action in all seven critical elements pointed out by the American authorities.
The FAA had criticised the contract hiring process, saying it does not ensure the continuity of the critical inspector staffing system.
DGCA officials said they have already issued the appointment of 18 full-time flight operation inspectors.
The DGCA has also completed proper documentation of the training records regarding the training for private pilot license and foreign license validation.
