Bhubaneswar: The State Government on Monday requested the city airport authority to expedite the process of approval of international flight schedules from Biju Patnaik Airport with the Ministry of Civil Aviation.
With some airlines giving flight schedules for operating international flights from the airport, Chief Secretary, JK Mohapatra advised Director of Bhubaneswar Airport, Sharad Kumar to speed up the process of approval by the Civil Aviation Ministry.
Fly Dubai and Air Asia have given their schedules for operating international flights from Bhubaneswar, said a senior officer after a high level meeting chaired by the Chief Secretary. Fly Dubai would operate from Bhubaneswar to Dubai and Air Asia from Bhubaneswar to Kualalumpur, the sources said adding, it has been decided that dry run of international flight operation will be conducted during first week of March.
