Dubai: An Indian national in Dubai was on Monday sentenced to one month jail for making a hoax bomb threat and fined 2,000 dirhams (about $500) for consuming alcohol without a permit.
The defendant, identified by his name's initials, SS, 36, called the police control room from a hotel on December 31 and said he knew of a bomb placed at the Dubai Airport that would soon explode, The National reported.
He was transiting through Dubai to another destination, which was not mentioned in court records.
