Major fog at Delhi delays flights

New Delhi:  A dense "freak" fog has covered Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport this morning. Both runways were shut down, as visibility was described as nil. The situation has began to improve now.
40 flights have been delayed so far, and this could affect flight schedule for some part of the day.
A passenger on an early morning Indigo flight to Kolkata said they had boarded as scheduled and had now been sitting in the plane for the past one and a half hours. "We cannot see anything outside the window... every few minutes a further delay is being announced", he said.
