Meet on Andal airport today

Kolkata: The chief executive officer of Singapore's Changi International Airport (CIA) Lim Liang Song and some Bengal Aerotropolis Projects Limited (BAPL) directors will meet state industries and finance minister Amit Mitra at Nabanna on Thursday.
The meeting that will also be attended by top officials including the chief secretary and principal secretary (transport) will discuss measures to speed up the process of clearing bottlenecks that have plagued the Greenfield airport project at Andal.
The CIA, which is believed to be one of the best managed airports of the world, holds 26% stake in BAPL. The BAPL proposed flight operation at Andal airport from April 2014, but, shifting of high-tension electricity transmission lines on the flight path has been taking more time than anticipated. This has led to unnecessary delay in obtaining the final clearance from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
