Oman-India flights diverted as fog rolls in

Muscat: Flights from Middle East region were affected as fog blanketed north Indian cities for a few hours on Monday morning.
A Jet Airways flight from Dammam to Delhi was diverted to Jaipur due to poor visibility at 7:55am and an Oman Air flight operating on Muscat-Lucknow sector was diverted to Delhi due to foggy conditions in Lucknow.  The Oman Air flight landed at the Indira Gandhi International Airport at around 5.42am.
According to Indian Meteorological Department's (IMD) forecast, it will again be a foggy day in Delhi today, while on February 27 and February 28, skies will be partly cloudy with the possibility of rain or thunderstorm.
"We are aware of the fog in north India. We don't have flights operating to north Indian destinations and none of our flights from the region have made any stopovers in Muscat due to the bad weather in north India," Riyaz Kuttery, general manger at Jet Airways in Oman, said.
