Smart, green city near proposed Navi Mumbai Airport to become reality in 30 years

Navi Mumbai: A parallel city, much bigger than Navi Mumbai, is being planned by the City and Industrial Development Corporation (Cidco) near the proposed Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) in 30 years to accommodate over 80 lakh people.
The state government has given its nod for creation of the township and named it Navi Mumbai Airport Influence Notified Area (Naina).
Keeping in mind the rise in population and development in the region once the airport comes up, Cidco has been accorded the status of the special planning authority. It is the sole nodal agency to develop Naina as a smart, intelligent and green city.
