Two held for gold smuggling

Ahmedabad:  Two persons were held at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport for gold smuggling on Saturday night. One of the suspects belongs to Mumbai and the other to Porbandar.
"The first accused, Mohammed Rizwan Shaikh, was caught on Saturday night. He had arrived from Dubai by SpiceJet flight number SG16. He had concealed 321.910 gm of gold powder in an emergency light and 325.750 gm in a food processor. The second accused, Rav Mansur Hussain, arrived from Dubai by Emirates flight number EK538. Hussain had concealed gold wires weighing 1,218.38 gm inside his suitcases. The wires were coated with aluminum powder. The duo has been detained for further investigation," said a customs department official.
