Ahmedabad: The customs officials arrested two persons at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport for smuggling 2.6kg of gold worth over Rs 79 lakh. According to the officials, those who have been arrested are from Godhra and Rajkot. The duo had landed at the airport early in the morning. One of them, Mohan Suleman Abdulla Hajiadam, had arrived from Dubai by Qatar Airways flight QR-534 and had allegedly concealed a gold rod weighing 466.7g in the form of the shaft of a trolley wheel and an aluminum powder-coated gold wire weighing 572.18g inside his suitcases.
