Mumbai: Air India has "unconditionally" taken back 13 of the 17 cabin crew members it had sacked recently for indiscipline and defying flight duty time limitation (FDTL) norms, allegedly following pressure from a section of the employee unions, PTI reported on Thursday quoting AI sources. But an AI spokesperson denied the development.
"We have not taken back anyone,'' the airline spokesperson told TOI. "The sacked cabin crew have in fact tendered an unconditional apology and they also blamed the union. The management is yet to taken a decision on this."
According to the agency report, a decision to revoke the terminations was taken after the Shiv Sena-backed breakaway faction of the All India Cabin Crew Association held a meeting with AI chairman and managing director Rohit Nandan in New Delhi.
