For CISF, VVIP rage to be blamed for security nightmare at Delhi airport

New Delhi: Very Very Important Persons are usually on a short fuse. Nobody knows this better than Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel on security duty at airports across the nation where the tantrums of privileged people are a never-ending nightmare.
For CISF men, Delhi is the best place to be posted at but simply the worst to work in. More than a dozen serious cases of VVIP rage are reported from Delhi Airport every year; the other 58 airports that the CISF secures don't add up to the Capital's level.
VIP rage is now an accepted job hazard for these airport securitymen, and they are being conditioned and trained for dealing with the unruly behavior of elite passengers. There are at least 18-20 such cases reported by CISF every month from the 59 airports under its jurisdiction.
Every case is as unique as the VIP who causes it, however. Take Samajwadi Party loudmouth and minority face Azam Khan, a man known for shooting from the lip. The CISF got a taste of Khan's anger early last year. The SP leader was using the VIP gate in departing for Lucknow but also wanted his driver to use the same. When the CISF objected, they got a first-class tantrum combined with a tonguelashing that they won't forget for a long time.
