Indian family prays after Malaysian Airlines tragedy

Chennai: Chennai-based management consultant KS Narendran’s world came crumbling down on Saturday as his wife Chandrika Sharma was on the Malaysian Airlines MH370 flight that went missing with 239 passengers and crew.
Chandrika had taken the flight from Kuala Lumpur on her way to Mongolia to participate in a Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) organized conference. Chandrika was to represent her organization "International Collective In Support of Fishworkers", where she works as an Executive Secretary.
Narendran is praying for the good news - that his wife is alive and safe - from the Malaysian Airlines authorities.
"He is not in a mental make-up to answer his phone. His wife Chandrika was on the Malaysia Airlines plane that is said to have crashed," said N Venugopal of the International Collective in Support of Fishworkers (ICSF).
The couple has one daughter, who is pursuing a degree course in English literature from Delhi’s Dr Ambedkar University.
