The acting CEO of Jet Airways has reportedly resigned, becoming the fifth senior executive to quit the Indian airline since UAE flag carrier Etihad bought a 24 percent stake last year.
Ravishankar Gopalakrishnan, who only joined Jet in October 2012, as chief financial officer, had been appointed acting CEO on January 16 until a replacement was found for former CEO Gary Kenneth Toomey, who quit barely seven months into the role.
Toomey replaced Nikos Kardassis, who left the airline after serving his second term as CEO, between October, 2009 and May, 2013.
According to Indian website travelbizmonitor.com, which quoted two sources, Gopalakrishnan had tendered his resignation but it had not been confirmed whether it had been accepted by the airline’s management.
