M'sia in contact with countries to aid investigation

Sepang: Malaysia has made contact with countries that have radar and satellite capabilities to seek help in the investigation into a Malaysian airliner missing for 11 days as the search for the aircraft intensified in two massive two corridors.
Acting Transport Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein said some of the countries had responded to Malaysia's request, especially in relation to satellite information, but could not divulge it due to its sensitivity.    He said he had contacted almost all the Asean leaders to assist Malaysia with their assets with deep ocean surveillance and detection capabilities.
"All efforts are being used now to reduce the area of concentration. This can be done by looking at satellite data we already have. We seek assistance from friends who have satellite and radar capabilities to relook (this data) and by using assets in the air or in the sea to narrow the area.
"Until that is done, both corridors become a priority," he told the daily media conference on developments in the search for the missing Malaysian Airlines (MAS) Flight MH370.
The northern corridor stretches from the border of Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan to northern Thailand, while the southern corridor stretches from Indonesia to the southern Indian Ocean.
