New flights to Visakhapatnam from today

Visakhapatnam: At a time when the Visakhapatnam International Airport has opened its landing strip for 24x7 operations, low-cost carriers IndiGo and Air Costa are introducing new flights connecting the Port City to Hyderabad, Bangalore and Bhubhaneswar from Sunday onwards. While Vijayawada-based Air Costa has announced that it will operate daily direct flights from Vizag to Hyderabad and Bangalore, IndiGo is also launching flights to Bhubaneswar and Bangalore.
Currently, IndiGo, Air India, SpiceJet and Jet Airways provide direct air connectivity to eight cities in India with around 14 domestic flights daily. The addition of four new flights will take the total number of daily flights to the city to 18 on average.
According to Air Costa, said the daily flight from Vizag to Hyderabad will depart at 8.55 pm and arrive at 10 pm, whereas the Bangalore flight will depart from Vizag at 8.30 am and reach Bangalore at 10 am. Meanwhile, the inbound flights to Vizag by Air Costa will depart Hyderabad at 7.05 am and reach the Port City at 8.10 am.
