Not just Holi dance, here's why DGCA slapped notice to SpiceJet and sacked two pilots

It was not just mid-air Holi dance sequence that irked the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), which slapped show cause notice to SpiceJet and suspended two of its pilots, the regulator raised objections on the violation of rules. The DGCA has actually sought an explanation over two issues related to the dance sequence which was conducted on board eight SpiceJet flights on March 17, a media report said on Monday.
According to Firstbiz, the DGCA has asked the airliner two questions: how come cell phones were allowed to be switched on during flight and why the cockpit entry was not secured and barred even if one of the pilots left the cockpit to film the dance on his mobile phone.
The cabin crew of SpiceJet performed a small dance sequence on a song as part of Holi celebrations, with some passengers also joining in. The videos of these events were taken and uploaded on video-sharing website YouTube and other social media. In one video, a pilot is seen coming out of the cockpit and taking photographs of the celebrations at the front of the aisle.
Indian rules don't allow use of a mobile phone in flight. Rule 29B of Aircraft Rules 1957 bars the use of all portable electronic devices on board an aircraft in flight.
