Police search Malaysia Airlines pilot's home

Police began searching the home of the pilot of the missing Malaysia Airlines flight today after the country's prime minister confirmed the plane was suspected to have been deliberately diverted.
Police officers arrived at the home of the captain, Zaharie Ahmad Shah, shortly after Prime Minister Najib Razak ended his news conference.
Mr Najib said that investigators believe someone aboard the missing flight deliberately shut off its communications and tracking systems, turned the plane around and flew for nearly seven hours after it vanished."In view of this latest development the Malaysian authorities have refocused their investigation into the crew and passengers on board," he said.
Investigators have confirmed that an aircraft tracked by military radar was the lost Malaysia Airlines flight MH370, after its communications were likely switched off before it reached the east coast of Malaysia a week ago, Mr Najib said.
The experienced 53-year-old captain was a flying enthusiast who spent his off-days tinkering with a flight simulator of the plane that he had set up at home, current and former co-workers said.
Malaysia Airlines officials did not believe he would have sabotaged the flight.
