Bangalore: Experts have suggested removal of Value-added Tax (VAT) on Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) at Tier-II city airports and addition of flights and improvement of road transport as keys to growth.
Ashok Rao, chief consultant at KGK Consulting Services, said this will help attract people to cities like Hubli-Dharwad, Mangalore, Mysore and Belgaum and consequently lead to the growth of industry and infrastructure in these cities.
He was speaking at the Confederation of Indian Industry’s (CII) Karnataka Annual Meeting-2014 in the city on Thursday.
“We have been asking for a two per cent decrease in VAT on air turbine fuel and requesting Airports Authority of India to waive parking charges at Mysore Airport as it has only one flight operating out of it now,” he said.
