Gold worth 13.71 lac seized at airport in two separate cases

The officers of customs at Mangalore International Airport seized gold totally weighing 466.650 grams valued at Rs 13,71,951 in two separate cases.
In the first case, the officers seized 2 gold wires, totally weighing 233.550 grams valued at Rs 6,86,637 concealed in the form of beadings around a brown coloured stroller suitcase, brought as checked-in baggage.
The gold was found in the possession of a passenger identified as Kappanakkal Muhammed Anvar (27), a resident of Bekal, Kasaragod. He arrived at Mangalore International Airport on Sunday April 13 at about 0200 hours by Air India Express flight No IX384 from Dubai.
In the second case, the officers seized one gold strip concealed in a measuring tape and 44 gold buckles, concealed in footwear and ladies brassieres totally weighing 233.100 grams and valued at Rs 6,85,314, kept in a carton box brought as checked in baggage.
The gold was seized from the possession of a passenger named Aboobacker Siddeeque Bennamgala (27), a resident of Kumbla, Kasaragod.
