Aizawl : Since its operation from August, 2012, Mizoram government has so far earned Rs.1, 44, 65,838 (One crore forty four lakhs sixty five thousand and eight hundred thirty eight) from helicopter service.
During January-October, 2013, a whopping amount of Rs.3, 35, 92,971 has been spent in the operation of the helicopter service.
As per GAD Aviation Wing, while during January-October, 2013, Mizoram Government has spent Rs.3, 35,92971 for the helicopter service, Rs.91,36,060 (the income in 2013 and 2014) has been deposited in the state exchequer; and from August 2012 till date, Rs.1,44,65,838 has been deposited.
Deputy Controller of GAD Aviation Wing, Saidenga said that the helicopter service is not run terms of business, "but to serve the people in their need, so we are not running after profit".
"It is helpful in hazardous event and medical emergency", he said.
