Nagpur Improvement Trust seeks police help to raze airport wall encroachments

Nagpur:  The Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT) is set to send a letter to the police for providing protection to deal with the unauthorized structures near the airport boundary wall in Sonegaon. Last time when the NIT had tried to raze the unauthorized structures after having given a notice, a mob had obstructed them.
"We have already sent an application in this regard last year but are yet to receive a reply. Hence, we will be sending a letter reminding them about our request by Monday or Tuesday," said AK Gaur, executive engineer (west), NIT.
Mihan India Limited (MIL), the operators of Nagpur's Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport, and the NIT had together found 28 unauthorized structures that had come up actually touching the airport boundary wall in Sonegaon.
