Tadepallugudem residents Demand Setting up of Airport

Tadepallugudem: Tadepalligudem Assembly constituency is a typical example of the callousness of government officials’ failure to develop the segment. In spite of the presence of infrastructure for road and rail connectivity, industries and higher educational institutions including the horticulture university, the constituency is still deprived of safe drinking water and underground drainage system. Traffic issues and problems related to old and new flyover bridges in Tadepalligudem town still plague the residents.
The constituency, which largely comprises Tadepalligudem town and its surrounding areas, is one of the major economic hubs in the district. The town boasts of an onion market which is famous all across the country.
Drinking water issue is one of the main problem in the constituency.  “The government sanctioned several drinking water projects but they have not been implemented due to the political rivalry between parties which do not want their opposition to get credit for solving the drinking water problem,” said J Krishnamachary, a goldsmith in the town. The rivalry has also led to the delay in the construction of the  underground drainage works for which `62 crore was sanctioned five years ago. As a result the town sports the look of a garbage bin and the number of cases of vector-borne diseases has also gone up.
