Aranmula: Patron of the Coordination Committee against the Aranmula Airport Project Kummanam Rajasekharan has sought a probe by the Central Vigilance Commissioner (CVC) into the financial irregularities behind giving clearances for the airport project.
Delivering the keynote address at the indefinite dharna against the airport project at Aranmula Aikara Junction on the 97th day of strike on Sunday, Kummanam Rajasekharan said, corruption worth hundreds of crores of rupees was involved behind the clearances given for the project. Hence the new Central Government should embark on a comprehensive probe into the murkey deals and the black money involved for obtaining the clearance from the Central Government departments including Defence, Environment and Civil Aviation, Kummanam said. He termed K Sivadasan Nair’s statement that PM-designate Narendra Modi would be invited to inaugurate the work on the airport project as a remark of a mentally-imbalanced individual.
