Patna: Despite the efforts made by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) and Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC), the flights operating to and fro the state capital run the risk of bird-hits, threatening the lives of flyers. The Friday's incident of bird-hit to the Go-Air flight in Patna skies has only served to highlight the danger and caused panic among the flyers.
The AAI and PMC authorities are passing the blame on each other for the incident. AAI officials claimed they had repeatedly been writing to the PMC officials for getting the area in airport's vicinity cleaned, whereas the PMC officials blamed the Phulwarisharif Nagar Parishad for its failure to keep the area clean. PMC commissioner Kuldip Narayan told TOI on Saturday that the slaughter houses near the airport premises were already earmarked for relocation. It may be mentioned here that the Patna airport falls under the jurisdictions of PMC as well as Phulwarisharif Nagar Parishad.
