GoAir to focus on non-metro segment

Kolkata: Wadia Group aviation venture GoAirlines (India) Ltd. will penetrate non-metro cities as part of its strategy in the domestic market, CEO Giorgio De Roni said here on Tuesday.
“As strategy, we will go for Tier-II and Tier-III cities focussing on connecting metro and non-metro cities.” Go Air, which has been planning an international foray for quite sometime now, will tap domestic markets more vigorously as that is where the growth lies, says Mr. Roni. “Indian market is the third largest and it will continue to grow,” he said.
He said the company was planning to add its 20 aircraft in July this year. This is among the government stipulations for allowing an international connectivity along with being in business for five years. While the company is planning to make a foray in to overseas destinations, it is also scouting for some strategic alliances.
