Gold worth Rs 29.38L Seized from Passenger at CIAL

Nedumbassery: Officers of the Air Customs at Cochin International Airport, on Saturday morning seized 1,049 grams of gold (nine biscuits) worth `29.38 lakh from a passenger who arrived here on a Jet Airways flight from Sharjah.
S A S Navaz, Deputy Commissioner of Customs (Air Intelligence Unit), said that the passenger Jauhar, 30, of Koduvally, Kozhikode, was suspected to be carrying something illegal and was stopped for checking. Upon thorough screening, he was found to be carrying gold concealed in a rechargeable fan.
