Kolkata: If you are in a tearing hurry and ready to shell out Rs 2 lakh per hour, a chartered helicopter is waiting for you to take you to your destination.
After helicopter services to Haldia, Ganga Sagar, Malda, Balurghat, Durgapur, Bolpur and Haldia, the state government has introduced chopper rides for the 'aam aadmi', albeit for a premium price.
"We are receiving requests from private parties - film-maker, lawyer and even doctors - for chartered flights. So we have decided to open a window for people who might urgently require flying somewhere," said transport minister Madan Mitra.
"This is a part of our attempt of optimal utilization of unutilized flight hours we have bought," added principal secretary (transport) Alapan Bandyopadhyay.
