Two Delhi-bound diverted planes land in Jaipur

Jaipur: Two Indigo flights were diverted from Delhi to Jaipur due to congestion at Indira Gandhi International Airport on Monday. The congestion in Delhi's aerial route was due to arrival of heads of nations, foreign delegates and other invitees attending the swearing-in ceremony of Narendra Modi as Prime Minister.
Jaipur airport authorities said that two Delhi-bound flights from Ahmedabad and Kolkata landed in Jaipur airport at 10.50 am and 11.10 am. "These flights, after an hour's stop-over, left for Delhi," said officials. Meanwhile, the airport was kept on high alert anticipating diverted flights from Delhi.
According to sources, the civil aviation authorities had categorically asked Jaipur, Lucknow, Ahmedabad and other airports to remain alert in case of any sudden diversion due to the rush at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi on Monday.
