Kochi: The KGS Group will file an appeal in the apex court against the cancellation of the environmental clearance given to its Aranmula airport project by the Chennai bench of the National Green Tribunal, said Gigi George, managing director of KGS Aranmula International Airport Ltd.
The group is also probing the option of conducting a new environmental impact assessment by Engineers India Ltd, an engineering services company, and SGS India, a certification company, and resubmitting the proposal for environmental clearance.
"We will amend the project and resubmit it to the government, which is an administrative route. Revising a project proposal three or four times is quite usual in major projects. Parallel to this, we will appeal in the Supreme Court against the verdict of the National Green Tribunal," George told reporters here on Wednesday.
