Mangalore: The Customs and Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) officials seized 4.46 kg of gold from two passengers separately at Mangalore International Airport on Wednesday.
The value of the seized gold is around Rs 1.21 crore.
The DRI sleuths seized 2.46 kg gold from Husainar, a resident of Perla in Kasargod, who arrived from Dubai.
He had concealed the gold in his socks, the officers said.
In the second incident, the Customs officials seized two kg of gold bars valued at Rs 54.20 lakh from Ibrahim Kaleel Ebrahim Kunnil, a native of Kasargod, who also arrived from Dubai onboard Air India Express flight IX 814.
