Putrajaya: Outgoing Acting Transport Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein will continue to assist newly appointed Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai in the MH370 issue.
According to Hishammuddin, the duties of the ministerial post will be passed from him to Liow gradually and seamlessly.
"I cannot run away (from this matter) as I am synonymous with MH370. Even leaders in the ministers identify me as the 'MH370 minister'.
"But I will continue to assist Liow as well as the other leaders in the search for the missing airplane," he said, adding that he does not mind being present with Liow during press conferences in regards to MH370.
Hishammuddin said that as the search for MH370 enters into its next phase, there will be more press conferences by the four subcommittees.
He said that the transport ministry was important and that it required a full-time minister post.
Hishammuddin has been the acting transport minister for about a year since the 13th General Elections in 2013.
