Raja Bhoj airport slips in satisfaction quotient

Bhopal:  Besieged with poor load, airline operators cutting down flight services or moving out and a drop in number of fliers, Raja Bhoj Airport, Bhopal slipped down on overall satisfactory quotient from 4.56 to 4.53 on a scale of 5 in the latest survey conducted by Airport Authority of India (AAI). Bhopal airport, recorded worst in speed of baggage handling and delivery with a score of only 4.37. On the contrary, another domestic airport in tier-two city, Raipur airport, increased its satisfactory quotient from 4.43 to 4.56.

AAI conducts survey twice a year for quality control check on airports through a private agency. Agency conducts survey on domestic airports on the basis of 33 parameters which are based on facilities at airport. For each parameter, agency gives a score on a scale of 5. Overall satisfactory quotient is a mean of all parameters.

Bhopal's lowest score was in baggage handling where it scored 4.37 as against 4.48 last year. Bhopal's other poor performing parameter is ground transportation to the airport and vice-versa where it has scored 4.40.
