Chennai: Hours before AirAsia India’s maiden flight made it’s way from Bangalore to Goa, SpiceJet announced that it would be increasing flight services in some of their most heavily booked sectors - the Chennai-Madurai run amongst them.
In addition to the daily morning flight to the temple city, SpiceJet announced that the five-times-a-week evening flight would also fly daily from Chennai and return immediately.
Caught in the throes of burgeoning losses in the last few quarters, the low-cost carrier appears to be taking evasive measures to offset the impact of AirAsia India on the Indian aviation sector.
