‘Villagers will gain over airport land deal’

Navi Mumbai:  The new government resolution (GR), outlining the new compensation model, and the positive response of the villagers lately, has given a fillip to the City and Industrial Development Corporation (Cidco) land transfer process for the Rs 15,000-crore international airport project.

Cidco MD Sanjay Bhatia told the media on Thursday that almost all villages are keen about the land acquisition process. Koli village, though, is yet to give consent. "We will be able to convince them," Bhatia said.

Several villagers from Varsheovale on Thursday also agreed on a joint survey of their houses for the relief and rehabilitation package.
