50 additional CCTV cameras at airport

Nagpur: City's Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport will soon have an additional 50 CCTV cameras to boost its security. It already has around 50 CCTV cameras at present.
"The tenders have already been called and are being evaluated," said senior airport director P Anil Kumar. Now, with the additional CCTV units many more areas of the airport will come under surveillance. The footage of these cameras will be monitored by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), which is responsible for the safety and security of the airport.
Areas like the vehicle parking bays, the parking kiosk at the entrance of the airport, apron etc will also be covered now. "This will ensure that every person entering the airport is under scanner. Also, one feed from only the apron area will be given to the airport operational control centre (AOCC) apart from the CISF," said a senior MIHAN India Limited (MIL) official.
