Airports Authority of India and NIIT Technologies launch multi-airport AOCC at Chennai Airport

Airports Authority of India and NIIT Technologies announced that they have launched the multi-airport Airport Operations Control Centre (AOCC) and Data Centre at the Chennai Airport. The AOCC was inaugurated by Ashok Lavasa, IAS, Secretary Ministry of Civil Aviation (MOCA), Govt. of India. This is the first multi-airport installation in Asia, which will enable information sharing across 10 airports instantly and hence benefit AAI, airlines, and other stakeholders at the airports. The implementation is a part of the first phase of airports modernization plan to be rolled out by AAI across 10 airports in India. The multi-airport model integrates with key Airport Systems and is capable of managing multiple Airports through common Airport Operational Database (AODB).The solutions involving Airport Management System and Resource Management System supplied by SITA have been implemented and integrated with the existing key airport systems. The implementation of AOCC will enable Collaborative Decision Making (CDM) among all stakeholders at the airport, optimizing airport resources and operations. All stakeholders will now use single Airport Operations Database (AODB) to take decisions to align their objectives with the overall planning and objectives of the airport.
