Mumbai: As there was hardly any rainfall in June, flight operations at the city airport were not affected and there were hardly any weather-related delays as compared to the years when the monsoon was good.
Statistics collected by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation show that among the most-delayed arrivals in June were Air India flights. Daily flight AI 680 to Mangalore was late on 27 out of last month's 30 days, daily flight 614 from Ahmedabad was late on 24 out of 30 days, AI 618 to Kolkata was late on 23 days and AI 571 daily flight to Chennai was late on 22 occasions.
While 41 of Air India flights and 33 of Jet Airways daily flights were delayed on more than 20% of the occasions, for IndiGo, Spice Jet and Go Air that number was 13, 12 and 20, respectively.
In the departure category, Air India and Jet Airways had 39 and 46 of its daily departures delayed on more than 20% of the times.
