Seminar on air cargo exports

Visakhapatnam: Around 250 delegates from domestic and international airlines are expected to participate in a seminar on regional air connectivity and export of air cargo to be addressed by Union civil aviation minister P Ashok Gajapathi Raju and Union minister of commerce and industry Nirmala Sitharaman on Sunday.

The seminar, organized by Air Travellers Association (India), will see Air Arabia general manager (India) Sachin Nene, Air Asia Berhad general manager Suresh Nair, flyDubai general manager (India) Pran Satya Dasan and former director of Air India, Captain S N Reddy, participate in the seminar, ATA (I) president D Varada Reddy told newspersons here on Friday, adding that the civil aviation minister would be inaugurating the session on regional air connectivity and presenting the ATA (I)'s airline of the year award to Air India.

He informed that the session on exports by air cargo will be addressed by Nirmala Sitharaman in the evening. As the US-based pharma giant Hospira has expressed interest in shipping 2,000 tonnes of cargo per week by air from the city, Varada Reddy termed it as a good prospect for city's air cargo potential.
