Will flight services be on at Mysore airport?

G M Siddeshwara, minister of state for civil aviation, on Thursday stepped in to attend to Mysore's needs in air connectivity during the peak tourist season. His intervention follows an indication from the sole operator that it could stop Mysore operation from September 1. "Ahead of his visit to the city, Siddeshwara is focusing on the issue and seized of the issue," sources told TOI. "He has collected details from the officials concerned," they stated.
The minister, who will be in Mysore this weekend, will be visiting the Mysore facility. He is also meeting industrialists and leaders from the tourism sector. The stakeholders have decided to impress upon him the need to improve air connectivity to the city to promote tourism and industry. The state government is positioning the leading tier 2 city as an IT hub, and is trying to attract investment in IT and ITeS sectors.
