Indore: International flight services from the city will have to wait a bit longer as approval from civil aviation ministry is yet to come. Air Arabia and Emirates, two prominent airlines based out of United Arab Emirates (UAE) have recently signed a MoU with MP government to provide direct air services between Indore and UAE.
"Air Arabia and Emirates Airlines are interested in starting a direct flight between Indore and Dubai. They will start operations as soon as civil aviation ministry gives approval for the proposal along with the number of flights and seats," said Yashodha Raje Scindia, industry minister of Madhya Pradesh on Monday.
MD of Madhya Pradesh Trade & Investment Facilitation Corporation Ltd (TRIFAC), DP Ahuja said Air Arabia is interested in starting a direct flight between Indore and Dubai, while Emirates Airlines will start cargo-linked flight from Indore after getting necessary approval. Both airlines will start their operations from Indore as soon as they get necessary clearances, including immigration and customs.
