Anti-airport Panel to Intensify Stir

Pathanamthitta: The Aranmula Anti-airport Coordination Committee has decided to intensify agitation against the government move to sell 48 acres of revenue land, public roads, streams and ponds located in and around Aranmula, to the KGS Group, the promoters of the Aranmula airport project.

Addressing a news conference here on Tuesday, Coordination Committee leaders P Prasad and A Padmakumar said that the 48 acres of area spread over Aranmula, Kidangannur and Mallapuzhassery villages were already identified for sale to the airport company at a price of `12 crore. They said that the move was taken under the patronage of the Chief Minister by Revenue Minister Adoor Prakash, Industry Minister P K Kunhalikutty, K Sivadasan Nair MLA, industries principal secretary P H Kurien and District Collector S Harikishore.
