Vasco: A commotion ensued outside the Dabolim airport on Wednesday afternoon after STC (Sameera Transport Corporation), a private tour company, restarted its counter outside the airport.
The police had closed down the counter which had earlier operated from inside the terminal building. There were allegations of irregularities at the counter as it booked passengers even before they came out of the terminal and charged higher rates than permissible.
At around 1.30pm a huge crowd consisting of the staff of yellow black and tourist taxis gathered around STC counter and asked them to shut down. The argument was heated and long-drawn with a driver of STC getting slapped in the bargain.
