Margao: Hoping to drum up support, Goans For Dabolim Only (GFDO) will be launching an awareness drive by heading back to the villages where it will bring to the attention of locals reasons why Goa does not require a second airport.
"While the government continues to fool the people by saying that Mopa airport is necessary and feasible, its decision to gift 381 acres of land under acquisition to the private airport developer for commercial use at 4 FAR proves us right - that the proposed airport is nothing but a massive land scam," said GFDO's convenor Fr Eremito Rebelo.
While addressing mediapersons on Tuesday, Rebelo said the scam over land under acquisition is just the tip of the iceberg, and that a much greater land scam is awaiting the rest of Pernem taluka.
