New Delhi: Union Civil Aviation Minister Ashok G.R. Pusapati on Friday ordered a detailed report from the Airports Authority of India (AAI) and Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) on allowing private ground handling companies entry into Goa airport in complete violation of rules.
A top official confirmed that the minister has issued the directive following a MAIL TODAY report published on Thursday, highlighting the potential security threat posed by these private ground handlers to the Indian Navy air base at Dabolim in Goa. DGCA rules strictly prohibit entry of private companies at joint user defense airports.
The minister has written to Civil Aviation Secretary V. Somasundaran, directing him to get a detailed report concerning private handler, National Aviation Services India Private Ltd (NAS), and the backdoor entry to Cambata Aviation, another ground handler.
