Vashu Bhagnani hires a real Boeing 747 and fighter jet

Vashu Bhagnani's comedy of errors, 'Welcome To Karachi', which is currently being filmed in Dunsfold village, Waverley, UK, had a new addition on the set. A few days after props from the airport created in Birmingham were stolen ( Mirror, October 20), the makers hired a Boeing 747 for the film's climax.

A source from the unit told Mirror, "Arshad (Warsi) and Jackky's (Bhagnani) characters accidentally cross the border while sailing in Gujarat and have to make a dash back home. Vashuji (producer Vashu Bhagnani) hired a Boeing 747, tanks and a fighter jet for the sequence, taking the budget up by Rs 2 crore."
Speaking from London, Vashu confirmed this, saying, "We needed the plane for eight days, three of which were spent on preparation."
