2 kg of drugs seized from Nedumbassery airport

Kochi: A passenger at the Cochin International Airport at Nedumbassery was detained with close to 2 kg of heroin in his possession. The Narcotics Control Bureau, which seized the substance, arrested three persons in connection with the seizure.

Ajith E.S., 38, of Idukki, was about to leave for Kuwait when NCB officials detected the drug in his baggage. A test by the Customs Dog Squad confirmed that the passenger was carrying 1.98 kg of heroin, officials said. Officials later detained two persons named Fahad and Ajmal from Kannur. They were allegedly involved in the racket to smuggle heroin out of the country.
