Kochi: Around two kilograms of gold was seized from a flight and a Tamil Nadu native was arrested on charges of carrying the consignment at Cochin International Airport Ltd by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence(DRI) on Wednesday.
The accused has been identified as Haneefa Sahib Aziz of Ramanathapuram district. According to the DRI officials, the gold was found inside the passenger seat of Silk Airways that landed in the early hours of Wednesday.
The officials seized the gold following a tip-off that gold is being smuggled in the flight.
