Hyderabad: Congress today staged a protest at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport here against Centre's decision to name the domestic terminal after TDP founder and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, the late N T Rama Rao.
The protest was held by Congress MP V Hanumantha Rao and other party activists, who were removed from the spot later by the police .
"N T Rama Rao's name was not there earlier. It was only named for Rajiv Gandhi. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Union Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju are using their influence. They (TDP) say NTR upheld Telugu pride. We are not questioning all that. But it was they who back-stabbed NTR," V Hanumantha Rao said.
