Gold Seized at Kochi Airport

Aluva: The Air Intelligence unit of the Customs Department on Saturday seized a gold cube weighing close to 500 gm from a passenger at the Nedumbassery airport.
Moihideen Khaja, a native of Chennai, had arrived from Singapore by Air Asia flight AK39.
He was intercepted at the exit gate of the arrival hall while trying to smuggle the gold cube hidden inside an electrical transformer of a sub-woofer.
The value of the confiscated gold is estimated at `13 Lakh.
